Digital Media for Museums class project, Spring 2016
Drawn Together! is a prototype digital drawing interactive for families, developed as a class project for use in the Brandywine River Museum in Chadds Ford, PA. Working in collaboration with a museum education student, the concept for this interactive focused on the unique creative education and collaboration that characterized the Wyeth family of American painters, a group of artists featured prominently in the museum's collection.
The interactive allows users to choose from prominent works by various Wyeth family members and create their own version of that work simultaneously with other users on a series of large touchscreens. The goal of the experience is to allow visitors to explore how they (and other users) interpret visual stimuli differently and focus on different aspects of what they see, be it light, line, color, space, etc., just as the Wyeth family looked at the same Chadds Ford landscapes and residents and, learning from one another, created their own unique interpretations.
